#STANDWITHUKR

The current state of emergency taking place in Ukraine has forced 10 million people to flee their homes, leaving 6.5 million people internally displaced, and overwhelming response capacities in neighboring countries. Refugees, majority of which are women and children, are at high risk of exploitation and trafficking. Russian invasions and the use of explosive weapons have stranded civilians in dire straits without access to food, water, shelter, or medical care, estimating a near 3,000 casualties since the war began. As the crisis continues to unfold, humanitarian needs are multiplying, and Ukrainians desperately need protection.

On Saturday March 5th, Relief Without Borders helped to put on the Ukraine benefit event held at Losers Bar & Grill in Nashville, Tennessee. Co - hosted by Yulia Liaman, Whitney Blake, and Senzela Atmar, the fundraiser lasted from 4 – 7pm with a raffle auction, t shirt sale, food, drinks, and live music by Phenix Red, C x A, Ash Ruder, Grace Tyler, and Christopher Kessenich. All proceeds went directly to the World Central Kitchen and Care Organization for the distribution of water, meals, and hygiene kits to displaced Ukrainian refugees. With the help of the hosts, vendors, volunteers, auction donors, and Nashville community, the event raised $22,685.

With sincere appreciation, thank you to everyone who attended and supported our efforts to reduce human suffering in Ukraine during this large-scale conflict. Your donations are providing immediate aid and relief through psychosocial services and monetary assistance to vulnerable civilians. An outstanding thank you to Steve Ford with Losers Bar & Grill who matched us with a donation of $10,000, nearly doubling the impact of the event. To the volunteers and donors – none of this would have been possible without you!
